Spain received 18.1 million foreign tourists between January and April, 13 percent more than in the same period of 2015, the National Statistics Institute reported.
In April alone, Spanish tourist destinations hosted nearly 6.1 million visitors, 11.3 percent more than in the same month last year.
The most striking increase in April was in tourists from the United Kingdom with 1,406,522 visitors, and then France with 1,092,614 vacationers.
In March and April, more than 10.9 million foreign tourists visited Spain, 13.4% higher than the same two months in 2015.
