The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure for the Region of Murcia has signed a contract for the provision of security services for Corvera Airport for the sum of EU171,000.
The contract, which was confirmed in the official regional bulletin, noted that the award has been made to Securitas (Spain) on the grounds that theirs was the lowest value bid.
Given that the facility has been completed, but yet to become operational, somebody somewhere must have questioned exactly the extent of the responsibilities of the the security team.

* Murcia's Corvera Airport "Will not open 2016"
So we are talking along the lines of "repairing or replacing or even in some cases Rebuilding ?...Its no wonder its not going to open in 2016 as already
stated...Cant help wondering what the Total ..Final.
cost will be.....with Spain being pressured by our old friends in Brussels because they are not up to
date with Interest payments.....it makes you wonder
if the money spent on this White Elephant could have been used on present day Essentials instead.
Just read elsewhere the tender had been issued for a value of €226,000, so Murcia has saved some money with someone willing to undertake the work for €171,000 (values are per year including IVA).
Security will be the least of Murcia's problems, when the find that the equipment has not been maintained and is obsolete needing replacing.
Anyway "I-Spy" at Corvera gets a little boring after a while, even if you are a paid security guard.
After all this time and what we hear has already been done to this airport.......the words "Horses and Stable Doors" come to mind.
Is the sum of €171.000 allocated Annually...Monthly..or what.....I think its possible that someone somewhere needed their back scratched.
Should have gone to Specsavers.
