Gay and Lesbian groups in Spain are organising what they have called a 'snog-in', planned to coincide with the Pope's visit to Barcelona on next month.
The groups have accused Facebook of censorship after the event planned by the 'Queer Kissing Flashmob' was removed from the website.
The event is intended to be held during the Pope's visit to the Cathedral at Barcelona on the 7th November as a peaceful protest for recognition of gay and lesbian rights by the Catholic church.
The group page on the Facebook website had attracted over 1,500 people members, with 12,000 yet to respond to the invitation when the page was removed.
The Queer Kissing Flashmob organisers, who have organised the event, have responded by setting up another Facebook page under the new name - ‘Queer Kissing Flashmob' - which is yet to receive the same attention from Facebook.
