Spain's consumer price index (CPI) increased 0.9% during October, resulting in a 2.3% year on year increase.
Latest statistics released by the INE (National Institute of Statistics) published this morning, reveal that the most influential components in this were the rise in prices of clothing and shoes, with a 9.8% increase last month. This increase is mainly attributed to purchases for the winter season.
By contrast, leisure and culture, as well as bar, cafes, restaurants and hotels, adversely affected the Consumer Price Index, as prices in the sector fell 0.8% and 0.2% respectively.
