The head of the Spanish Data Protection Agency has been called upon to speak before the congressional Constitutional Commission in order to account for and the activities and findings of the Agency since 2009.
The main challenges faced by the Agency are due to be reviewed in detail by the Commission, particulalry the manner in which data protection of Spanish citizens is managed on the internet, as well as the need for new regulation and legislation in other areas as developing technologies such as e mails or text messages.
Other issues that the director if the agency, Artemi Rallo Lombarte, will be expected to explain will be the protection of minors on the internet and how Spain's Healthcare centres comply with data protection legislation.
