Over the last 24 hours reports have been made of two further victims of domestic violence in Spain.
The attacks, both of them fatal, took place in the Town of Reus in Tarragona and in the City of Valencia.
The first victim was a 44 year old Spanish national who was discovered with knife wounds by her 5 year old daughter at their home in Reus last night. The daughter only broke news of the discovery to her teachers at school this morning. The police are searching for the victim's 34 year South American partner who has previously been sentenced for abusing the victim, and again last year for ignoring a distancing order.
The second victim, a 32 year old Bolivian national, was found dead in her Valencian city centre apartment this morning. Her 73 year old partner, from Uruguay was taken into custody after he left the apartment to tell neighbours that he had killed her.
Whilst this news bears witness to the frightening trend of escalating cases of domestic violence in Spain, it also bears out the pattern that the vast majority of incidents are commited by Immigrants.
