Spain's ruling Social Party are facing a difficult time in addressing falling public opinion. Over the last month the PP's lead has increased by one percentage point, reaching 15.9%, according to a poll commissioned by EL Pais.
The poll, undertaken by Metroscopia, indicates that the PP would take 4% of the vote and the Socialist Party 28.1%, its worst ever defeat.
Even though the economy is still facing difficulties, the government has introduced yet another unpopular measure: a speed limit reduction that goes into effect today. The poll reveals that 69% of voters reject that move.
