Car Manufactururer, General Motors, announced that it has stopped all nonessential spending and travel until it can reach a better understanding of the impact that the crisis in Japan will have on the company.
The America auto maker also stopped work at a plant in Zaragosa this morning due to a shortgage of Japanese-made parts for their Corsa small car.
The future of the Figueruelas (Zaragoza) factory was last in doubt 2 years ago when GM were contemplating selling the plant to Magna International. That deal would have resulted in the loss of 900 jobs, however the deal eventually fell through.
