Prices of Gas are due to increase today by an average of 4.1% today.
Households on the TUR1 (Tarifa de Último Recurso) tarif, that only use gas for hot water and cooking, will see a 3.3% increase, whilst those on the TUR2 tarif, who also use natural gas for heating, will be hit with an increase of 4.3%.
The Ministry of Industry put the increases down to an average 10.65% increase in the cost of raw materials.
Bottled butane gas is also set to increase today, with the maximum price being limited at no more than 14€ per bottle, just below the record price of 14,1€ seen 3 years ago. The price increase, equivalent to 81 cents per bottle is a much smaller rise than the 21% demanded by the industry sector, which claims not to be able to cover its costs.
Electricity prices are due to remain unchanged for now, but will be reviewed during the next quarter.
