Following reports earlier in the year that sales of cigarettes in Spain had fallen by 32% (January compared to December), it has also been revealed that sales have fallen a further 12% over the last two months.
Spain's Tobacconists are reporting a significant fall in profits, and that sales have dropped by 27% year on year.
Interestingly enough, Imperial tobacco, who manufacture a number of Spain's popular brands of cigarettes, reported a worldwide fall in sales of 1% up until the end of March, but a turnover increase of 2%.
