A report released today by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) revealed how the country's economical growth increased pace in the first quarter of the year.
After seasonal adjustments, GDP increased by 0.3% quarter-on-quarter, following a 0.2% increase in the previous three months. The economy grew for the second consecutive quarter, after remaining static in Q3 of last year.
When compared to last year's figures, the economy grew 0.8% in Q1, following similar growth seen in the previous quarter. It was the fastest pace of growth since Q2 of 2008, which saw a growth in the economy of 1.9%.
