The Office of Tourism for the Valencian Community has launched a new five million euro advertising campaign to promote the Region on a global platform.
The campaign is planned to run for two years the two-years and will utilise social media and web-based advertising as well as more traditional methods such as TV, Radio and Print.
The Valencia Region's Minister for Tourism, Belen Juste, commented "Travellers nowadays like sharing their holiday experiences with others on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Flickr; they read other people's comments or travel blogs before planning their holiday; and use their mobiles to stay informed and connected before, during and after their trip. Our new campaign reflects all this, building on some of the initiatives that we have already introduced, such as organised trips for travle bloggers, mobile apps and advergames."
The campaign will cover the traditional resorts in the Costa Blanca, which need little introduction, but also stretch up the coast to the city of Valencia and to Castellon and will promote not just the high-quality beaches, but also city breaks, inland tourism, major events, the gastronomy, as well as the many opportunities to take part in sporting persuits.
The promotional launch got underway at Madrid's Atocha train station, where the new AVE high-speed train to Valencia departs from. Over the next few weeks a roadshow will visit a number of European cities to promote the region and other promotional activities such as a youtue chanel dedicated to the region, will be launched.
