The Arab Investment Forum, due to be held in Murcia later this month, has been postponed until August due to unrest in Yemen.
The forum was originally planned to be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in La Torre Golf resort on the 28th and 29th of June, and had invited an number of investors who are estimated to hold up to 70% of the region's wealth.
Salvador Marin, the regional Minister for business, views the postponement as being a positive thing, as it allows time for other Arab countries to be invited to the talks.
The region has been selected specifically for its strategic and economic importance, along with it's growth potential in the tourism and real estate sectors. The new Corvera airport, due to be operational early next year, and the Paramount Pictures theme park are expected to be key attractions for the investors.
