Airlines have been warned to advise their passengers that they could face sever disruption to their flights tomorrow when a number of public sector strikes will take place across the UK.
The Guardian newspaper reports that the UK Border Agency have made the announcement that passengers should avoid airports altogether as there could be severe delays at passport control.
As a result, it is expected that as many as 500,000 passengers could be hit by the industrial action, as over 70% of Employees are members of the union behind the strikes. Immigration at many ports may also be affected.
A number of airlines are advising of expected delays and recommending that passengers use their Biometric Passports in the automatic gates in order to help keep queues to a minimum wherever possible.
The industrial action is due to begin Wednesday at 6pm and will end at midnight on Thursday.
