Catalan riot police confronted the protestors in Barcelona's Plaza de Catalunya in a bid to remove around 40 protestors.
The group were the last of the M15 protestors who have occupied the square for the last 6 weeks, had agreed to clear the area by Wednesday in exchange for the regional government providing them with a permanent communications post in the square.
The group refused to decamp at the last minute when it became apparent that the cabin offered to them did not meet with their expectations once it arrived.
Municipal cleaners were able to clear the remnants of the camp whilst the 100-strong group of riot police prevented the protestors from returning to the square. There were no reported acts of violence.
