ABTA Travel has issued a study revealing how Spain is continuing to grow in popularity as a destination for holidaymakers, with bookings for 2011 being up 11% on 2010.
The improving tourist industry has also had a positive effect on the country's property market according to one industry experts. Brian Schwimmer, CEO of Travel Rental Network commented that rental values in Spain are growing inline with the increase in demand. He noted that, this knock-on effect means that "prices are normalising once again, so people expecting the same discounts they saw last year might be in for a surprise,"
Much needed good news for owners of rental properties that both occupancy rates and yields may continue to improve, but also that the property market as a whole may have now bottomed out.
