Earlier this week Spain's Association of Registrars submitted proposals to the Department of Housing of a new service, which will allow users to obtain records held on Spanish properties - in the English language.
An article in El Mundo describes how potential buyers using this service will be able to contact the Association of Registrars and make an enquiry any property. A group of experts will then investigate the property in question and submit the required information, translated into English.
The measure is intended to streamline the property buying process and to help to increase confidence in the Spanish property market for foreign buyers.
The cost of the service is priced at 9.02 Euros, whist the translation (if required) is priced at an additional 20.00 Euros (Both per property, plus IVA). A sample document can also be viewed online to demonstrate to the user the information provided.
