Spain's 14/2011 Law on Science, Technology and Innovation has been published in the Official LegalGazette.
This Law intends to consolidate and internationalise how science is pursued within Spain, and carries on the developments introduced by an earlier law in 1986. It also seeks to make innovation an integral part of the activities of all companies regardless of their size or the sector which they fall into.
However, the Law gives particular attention to medium-sized companies and the high-technology industry. It aims to accomplish these goals by, among other things, encouraging increased investment of the private sector in science, technology and innovation through sponsorships and popularising science and the importance of innovation in order to improve the understanding and social perception of scientific and technological matters.
