Launch of Amazon.es

 

Amazon launched their Spanish language site earlier today - www.amazon.es - with introductory discounts starting from 5% on all purchases over 19 Euros.

The online store has started by selling a limited range of products, including Books, CD's & DVD's, Computer games and smaller home appliances and electronics. The range will be extended by the end of the year where products such as Amazon's 'Kindle' will be added.

Amazon have been purchasing thousands of product lines in a number of Spanish languages and suitable for the Spanish market for over 12 months now, and can also access other products from warehouses in other countries where necessary.

The combined Amazon sites received a total of 282.2 million visitors in June of 2011 alone, which represents or 20.4% of internet users across the world.

Amazon.co.uk are still offering free 'Supersaver' deliveries to Spain on orders of £25 or more.
