Changes to Spanish tobacco laws now mean that Shops and other retailer who are open for business for 18 hours or more each day will now be able to sell cigarettes.
The amendment now means that petrol stations and convenience stores will be permitted to have cigarette vending machines on the premises.
Loose 'on the shelf' tobacco products will only be permitted to be for sale by official Tobacco stores.
Any retailer wishing to take advantage of this will be need to apply to the Commission for the Tobacco Market, and register the vending machine number as well as the tobacconist who supplies them.
