Pupils from hundreds of secondary schools have joined with teachers in their protest against the Regional authorities and the recent cuts that they have made to the state education system.
Similar protests have also been seen on the streets of 30 other towns and cities across Spain.
From noon yesterday, secondary school and baccalaureate students marched from the Glorieta de Atocha to the Puerta del Sol in protest over the cuts, directing most of their anger towards the regional president.
The secretary general of the Students Union, Tohil Delgado, declared the protest march a move of solidarity with teachers, thousands of whom have lost their jobs or seen their teaching hours increased, which in turn affects the students.
