German utility RWE may not make a binding offer for Polish peer Enea as it considers the price too high, a person from RWE with knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday.
The comments came after Enea said on Wednesday that France's GDF Suez had asked to take a look at the books of Enea, Poland's only listed utility.
RWE right now is the sole bidder interested in acquiring a 67 percent Enea stake put up for sale by the Polish government and had been expected to file a final bid on Thursday.
The person declined to be identified.
