The National Geographic Institute (IGN) detected a further earthquake this afternoon (Thursday) on the Island of El Hierro, measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was located to the northwest of Frontera, at 14.02 GMT and at a depth of 22 kilometers.
Additionally, the Island's residents felt a further earthquake at 18:27 GMT, once more with a 3.0 magnitude at the same epicentre.
A lesser earthquake with an intensity of 2.6 on the richter scale took place at 12.38 GMT on Thursday towards the North-west of Frontera.The overall state of alert for the Island remains at yellow - red for the community of la Restinga.
