Last week Santander's Parayas Airport passed the one million passengers per year mark for the first time in it's history.
This milestone was reached with the arrival of Ryanair's 10am flight from Seville on Thursday morning.
Statistics from AENA reported that the passenger traffic at Parayas has been growing consitently throughout 2011, with a 20.1% growth seen in the first ten months of the year when compared to the same period in 2010.
AENA and airport representatives expect the trend to continue until the end of the year, and expect to reach 1.1 Million passengers in total for 2011.
For the whole of 2011 AENA investment at Santander Parayas airport amounted to 5,569,910 Euros. Just two airlines operate from the airport with seven national routes (Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife South) and four international (London, Paris, Rome and Milan) provided between them.
