Spanish vegetable producer, Frunet, is taking legal action against the German city of Hamburg for 2.3 million euros, after city officials publically blamed Spanish cucumbers for an outbreak of E. coli bacteria earlier this year.
The outbreak claimed a shocking number of deaths throughut Germany before it was found that the source of the outbreak was in the city itself, however by that time a number of other European countries had cancelled orders leading to the loss of millions of euros of spoilt produce.
