Ever since plans to build the Paramount Pictures theme park at Alhama de Murcia were announced, the Town Hall at Alhama de Murcia has been receiving upwards of 50 applications per day for the estimated 1'500 direct positions expected to be created at the park. A further 20'000 indirect jobs are also expected to be created.
Yesterday the Mayor of Alhama, Fernando Alfonso Ceron, told La Verdad how the developer and promotor of the park, Premursa, has announced opening of offices on the nearby Las Salinas Industrial Park with the sole intention of processing job applications and awarding contracts for the various services required in building and operating the park.
The office is expected to be open by late May, a date which will coincide with the laying of the first stone at the park. The Mayor said how local companies and applicants would be given priority, followed by those living within the region and finally, Spain. Those connected with the operation of the park have suggested that applicants with a knowledge of Englishg or French will be of particular interest.
The succesful applicants will be expected to commence training for their various roles during 2014, ahead of the prk opening for the 2015 season.
