Further to the Cabinet's approval of a new Government Transparency Law on Friday of last week, a new website has been announced, which will publish the full detail of the reform submitted.
According to the reforms, citizen are now able to consult all contracts awarded by the state. In addition, all data will be published on the procurement procedures, and all grants or state aid awarded to each department will be made public.
Making the announcement on Friday, Deputy PM and Government spokesman, Soraya Saenz de Santamerķa, stressed that the Government of Spain will now cease to be one of the most secretive in the west, and will compare with other European countries.
Each Ministry and Governmental Department will now be required to disclose all their contracts, how money is spent, how the organization operates, and the salaries of its management team.
This information will be published on the Transparency Portal, where the Government will publish the documentation considers to be of public interest and where citizens can request more detailed information.
