Following the signing of the new agreement between the President of the developers of the Paramount Pictures theme park, Proyectos Emblemáticos Murcianos SL (Premursa), with the Ayunatiento of Alhama de Murcia last week, Jesus Samper has spoken of the dalays involved in getting the project to this stage.
Aside from the problem in purchasing the full consignment of land required earlier in the year, Samper blamed the ongoing global financial downturn for potential investors losing confidence in the viability of the project.
"We are experiencing some very turbulent times, where everyone is now questioning whether Spain is better or worse off being in the euro". He continued, "these problems require groups to convince foreign investors."
However, the businessman maintained that everyday saw postive progress at the park, and that he was confident that such problems could be overcome.
Tumbit is bust wondering why, when the economic downturn in Spain is about to enter it's 5th year, this has only just occurred to Sr Samper.
