IAG has confirmed they are considering a bid to takeover Spain's Vueling Airlines.
International Airlines Group - formed last year by the merger between British Airways and Iberia - announced that they will discus the issue at their board meeting on Thursday afternoon.
Iberia acquired 46% ownership of the airline after Vueling assumed control of Click Air, then owned by Iberia and which resulted in the issue of shares in lieu of payment.
A statement issued by IAG confirmed that "No decision about whether an takeover bid will be launched has been taken as yet, and therefore, obviously, there has been no talk about terms of the deal, nor, in particular, about the price".
