American car giant Ford has announced further details of their plans to increase production at its plant in Almussafes, Valencia by an estimated 80%, to reach 300'000 vehicles per year.
The Head of Ford in Spain, Jose Manuel Machado, made the announcement yesterday at the launch of the compact Kuga SUV from the Valencia factory, which was attended by Spain's ministers of industry, Jose Manuel Soria, and of foreign affairs, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, as well as by Valencia regional president Alberto Fabra.
The Minister of Insustry congratulated Ford on their 35 years in Spain and welcomed the positive effects of the government's plan to promote sales of new, less-polluting cars.
The new Kuga will be exported to 72 countries and is part of the €1.11 billion investment plan in the Almussafes plant, and represents Spain's largest industrial investment in decades.
- I have added in the missing "Bln" and kicked the Typist for his oversight. I would also be tempted to have a word with your local Cafe owner if his prices are too much more than €1.11.
