The Spanish Office of Tourism is turning its attention on the Indian market as potential major area for growth for 2014.
Spain saw around 60'000 Indian tourists travel to Spain on holiday in 2012, representing a 50% growth on the previous year, and with growth for the April-June period of 2013 expected to be 10% up on the same period last year.
As such Spain Tourism has jumped on this trend to organise a 3-day roadshow, taking in the 3 cities of Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi in Spetember to promote all aspects of the country in a bid to attract India-based tour operators.
Spain Tourism will also host a delegation of between 15-20 Indian tour operators in October, where they intend to showcase both Madrid, and a number of World Heritage Cities expected to be well recieved by the average Indian tourist.
Certainly good news for Spanish tourism, and for the wider economy as a whole, and certainly bear out the claim that Spain looks set to become the playground of Europe .
