William Hill has joined competitors bet365 and bwin.party in their quest to dominate the Spanish market with their recent acquisition of sportingbet.
Despite owning thousands of licenced betting shops throughout the UK, William Hills have focused their attentions on growing their market share in the online gaming and betting industry over recent years.
Earlier this week the company announced that it had assumed control of Miapuesta - the Spanish division of Sportingbet, who it in turn acquired from the takeover of Spread your Wings Spain. As from Monday 16th September all online gaming services previously available on the above websites will be transferred to William Hill.
The company were offered the option to acquire miapuesta when it purchased Sportingbet's Australian business earlier this year for £459.4m.
