The Prime Minister of Estonia, Andrus Ansip, has refused to comment on the issue of Independence for Catalonia, saying how Spain can manage it's own internal issues without interference from third parties.
His comments contrasted with those of the Prime Minister of neighboring Baltic State, Latvia, when he said last weekend how his country was prepared to recognise an independent Catalonia.
Ansip told a press conference how he was "Convinced that in the Spanish state, they can excellently manage all relations without the prime minister of the Estonian Republic having to speculate on these topics".
The PM continued that "Spain is a good partner for Estonia, we respect the sovereignty and territorial wholesomeness of Spain and I am convinced that Spain can manage to organise its domestic relations without our speculations."
Ansip has thus managed to avoid seeing his Ambassadors to Spain being called to Madrid to answer questions over the subject, as seen with Latvia and Lithuania.
