Spain's National Institute of Statistics (INE) today published data showing how expenditure by foreign tourists increased by 12.2% in August compared to the same month in 2012 to reach 8.2 Million Euros.
Expenditure also rose by 7.2% for 2013 until end-August to reach 40.4 Million Euros compared to the same period last year.
The amount spent per person for the month of August was calculated at 997 Euros per stay (up 4.7%), and 101 Euros per day (up 2.8%).
Similarly, year to date figures for 2013 until end-August stood at 958 Euros per stay (up 2.5%), and 107 Euros per day (up 2.2%).
