Malaga-based businessman Francisco José Ortiz, has reportedly made a third bid to buy Spain's Ciudad Real Airport.
Unnamed sources close to Ortiz have commented how a formal offer to purchase the bankrupt facility from the administrators was submitted in writing to the Judicial Office of the City of Ciudad Real on Friday of last week.
The offer is believed to be for the same sum he offered on previous occasions - €121 Mln - with a 'possibility' of increasing the offer to €138 Mln providing certain conditions are met, which would enable the speedy operation of the airport.
The letter is also rumoured to provide confirmation the the required 5% security deposit can be provided, with proof of this being submitted by the Banks upon request.
Ortiz reiterated his intention to establish Ciudad Real airport as a dedicated "aerospace complex", with a turnover of €210 Mln from 2019 onwards, and employing some 47,000 staff.
The deadline for the 3rd phase of the sale of Ciudad Real Airport officially ends on 19th February.
