The new President of the Regional Government of Murcia, Alberto Garre, has spoken of his confidence that Corvera airport will be fully operational open before the end of his term, following the May 2015 elections.
Until now the Government had assumed that the facility would be operational by September 2014 following EU approval of a €179 mln shareholder loan to Aeromur, the concession holder of the facility.
During an interview with Onda Radio station earlier this week, President Garre spoke of how he considered matters surrounding the Paramount Pictures theme park project "secondary" to the airport.

STOP PRESS - Corvera will open as soon as Lord Lucan gallops past the Control Tower on Shergar. This will take place AFTER the Flying Pigs demonstration team have completed several circuits of the Airport. The date for this amazing Opening Day, will be February 30th 1915. Possibly. Perhaps. Maybe.
I thought that Corvera airport was going to be open Summer 2014 ? - it sounds like that new President has about as much idea as the old one.
