The agenda of the Spanish EU presidency is scheduled to run to approximately 3,000 meetings, of which over 350 of these will be held in Spain.
Among these 350 such meetings to be held in the country during Spain's EU presidency, the most important are the summits the EU will be holding with USA, Latin America, the Mediterranean countries, and Morocco.
Madrid will be hosting seven of these summits – EU-Caribbean and EU-Chile (17 May), EU-Latin America and the Caribbean (18 May), EU-Andes Community (19 May), EU-Mercosur and EU-Central America (19 May), and EU-USA (24 and 25 May) –, Barcelona four – EU-Egypt (6 June) and the Union for the Mediterranean (7 June) –, Granada one – EU-Morocco (8 March) – and Santander another – EU-Mexico (16 May).
Similarly, Madrid, Barcelona and Andalusia will be hosting the main meetings scheduled for the six-month presidency, while Galicia, the Basque Country, Aragon, the Valencian Community, Castile-La Mancha, Castile and Leon, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, and Extremadura will be hosting informal cabinet and top-level meetings.
