Budget airline Ryanair have launched a new service between the UK's (or Wales, to be more precise) Cardiff airport and Tenerife.
Flights commenced on the 15th of May and are scheduled to run for the remainder of the summer season until 30th October.
The airline estimates that around 15,000 passengers will take advantage of the new route during this time.
Outbound flights are scheduled to leave Cardiff each Thursday at 11.15 GMT, and landing in Tenerife at 15.20 Local time (GMT), with return flights leaving Tenerife at 06.55 Local time, and arriving back in Cardiff at 10.50 GMT.
Tenerife, for the time being, remains the only Spanish route served by Ryanair from Cardiff.
I think the previous poster is missing the point Ryanair are re establishing a route that was lost to Bristol Airport through the incompetent Spanish management team that were running Cardiff before the Government of Wales kick them out and took control back I hope that Ryanair will establish the mainland Spain flights that was lost as well when BMI baby went bust.
I would question Ryanair's logic here. Won't the 15'000 passengers have previously just flown to Spain from Bristol anyway ? I wonder if they are prepared for figures at Bristol being 15'000 down by the end of the year ? There is also a better choice of (cheaper) routes and better times at Bristol !
