Holiday villas in Spain appear to be attracting increasing levels of interest, according to new data.
Spanish property website Kyero.com has reported a 63 per cent increase in the number of unique visitors to its website in the first week of 2010 compared to the same period last year.
Paul Bradley, a spokesperson for the Spanish Property Owners Guild (SPOG), has said it is not surprising that there has been an increase in Spanish property over the past year.
But he believes now is not a good time to buy because property prices in Spain are set to continue falling for some time yet - which might suggest that renting holiday villas in Spain is currently the preferable option.
"However it does no harm to research your ideal location so at least you are ready to move quickly," he added.
Meanwhile, the Spanish city of Zaragoza was recently tipped as a rapidly emerging travel hotspot.
Ignacio Vasallo, UK and Europe director of the Spanish Tourism Office, said the city is justifiably set to become a candidate for the European Capital of Culture crown in 2016.
