A recent report issued by Spain's property registrars indicates and increase of 102% in the number of Swedes buying Spanish property last year, compared to 2009, encouraged by both comparatively low property prices together with a strong Krona against the Euro.
The trend was also followed by the Norwegians, up 58% over the same period, and the Russians, who saw a 19% increase.
Buyers from other countries in the Eurozone also saw significant increases, notably France, Italy and Germany, with increases of 23%, 18% and 11% respectively.
Spain's coastal and island locations are generally favoured by the Scandinavians, who have traditionally stayed away from the inland areas of Spain.
With property prices promising to fall further still, and other currencies out-performing the Euro, the message to Spain's Real Estate agents is clear.
