Former Boyfriend hunted over disappearance of Expat Mum in Spain

Spanish police want to speak to a Liverpool yacht dealer as they investigate the disappearance of a mum-of-one, according to reports.

Ex-pat Lisa Brown has not been seen for more than 3 weeks – leaving behind 8-year-old son Marco.

Sniffer dogs, divers and helicopters were all used in the search for the 32-year-old, who works in Gibraltar, but no clues have been found.

Now police are trying to trace her boyfriend, Simon Corner, also 32, originally from Liverpool, who could be in Ibiza, Thailand or Portugal, according to local media.

The Olive Press quoted sources saying Mr Corner was a "wheeler dealer" who looked "older than his age" and made his money buying and selling boats.

The Royal Gibraltar Police confirmed they are looking for Ms Brown's boyfriend, a "British man who had been docked at Alcaidesa marina and working in Gibraltar".

The family of Ms Brown, originally from Scotland, previously told how they were "hysterical" with worry.

Her sister Helen Jordan, 49, said Lisa had been working in Gibraltar on and off since she was 18.

She said: "We don't know much except it is totally out of character. That's why we're all so worried.

"She was last seen round about November 4 at her house.

"The police aren't saying much about it. They don't know anything yet. There is no indication why she has gone missing. She has never gone anywhere without Marco – he is her life."

Spanish Guardia Civil officers remained tight-lipped about their investigation but insisted: "All avenues are being explored. No theory has been ruled out."

A spokesman added: "The investigation is ongoing and we are not in a position to go into detail at this stage."

The Royal Gibraltar Police said: "Lisa Brown, a 32-year-old British citizen resident in nearby San Roque, has been reported as missing to the Spanish authorities.

"She was last seen between November 3 and 4."
