BAA, owned by Spain's Grupo Ferrovial, are being forced into selling two of their six airports in the UK.
BAA, who currently operate Heathrow, Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports, have been told they most sell Stansted and one of their Scottish airports in order to comply with competition rulings. Britain's Competition Commission issued a statement earlier today, saying how the lengthy appeal by Ferrovial against the original decision had not been upheld.
The Commission noted how the decision had been made in the bst interests of passengers, and that the two airports should be offered for sale within the next 3 months.
