Spain's National Institute of Statistics earlier today released a report showing how a total of 7123 new businesses opened in Spain in January of this year. The figure represents an increase of 15% on the previous month and 13.6% on January 2010.
However, a total of 2814 companies dissolved in January, an increase of 13.1% on January 2010. Of that number, 77% dissolved voluntarily, 14.3% merged and the remaining companies ceased trading for other reasons.
