The results of a recent survey carried out by the Co-operative Travel has revealed how the majority of holidays taken by Brits are shared between just four countries, with 61% of all holidays being taken between Turkey, Greece, Spain and America.
Spain is the most popular of all destinations with 29% of those surveyed taking holidays here, followed by Greece with 10%, Turkey with 8% and US at 6%.
The remainder of the top ten were made up of Egypt, Cyprus, France, Portugal, Italy and Tunisia, however, due to the recent troubles, the North African countries are expected to fall slightly this year - to the benefit of the countries ahead of them on the list of 'top ten'.
The majority of those surveyed reported that they travel abroad much less now than they did as children, with the primary reason behind this being cost.
