Tourists spend 3.5% less in Feb

The average expenditure of foreign tourists in Spain in February was 3.5% lower than the same period a year ago, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade said on Monday.

It follows a 4.1% increase in spending in January.

In the first two months of the year, total spending by foreign tourists in Spain recorded a total of EUR 4.93 billion - a figure more or less unchanged from the first two months of 2009.
