The property market today received a small piece of good news yesterday when real estate portal, Fotocasa revealed statistics showing an increase in the cost of Spanish property.
The data showed that the month of January marked the first month since December 2007 that prices of resale properties in Spain have risen.
Prices were shown to have risen by an average of 0.6% on average for the country as a whole, with the regions of Cataluña, and La Rioja seeing the greatest recovery in price at 4.6% and 4.5%. Prices also rose in the regions of Comunidad Valenciana (2,2%), Asturias (2%), Baleares (1,9%), Aragón (1,4%), Galicia (0,9%) and Madrid (0,7%).
This now takes the average price of resale property per square metre to 2,366 €.
