A number of government agencies have collaborated to jointly publish a draft Royal Decree which reforms Spain's Statute permitting the reuse of information issued by the public sector (Ley sobre la reutilización de la información del sector público).
By making the draft Royal Decree common practise, Spain hopes to be one of the pioneering countries in the reuse of information gathered and oroginally published by the public sector.
Since the public sector generates information which may be of use to many induviduals and private businesses, the Administration will make all public sector data publicly available by publishing a Public Information Catalogue at the webpage www.aporta.es. In general, such government information will be freely accessible subject to certain limitations, such as each ministry may require certain conditions be met before certain types of information can be issued.
