Movistar voted 'Worst Company in Spain'

Movistar have today been announced as "The Worst Company in Spain".

a Whopping 37% of all votes placed online at the FACUA consumer action group's third annual award for the worst business in Spain went to the Spanish telecommunications giant. Movistar also won the award on the two previous occassions - 2010 and 2011.

This year's runners up in this category were Vodafone (In 2nd Place with 32%) followed by Bankia; CAM Bank and Ryanair.

Movistar also took first prize in a second category at the awards : The "Worst Ad of the Year", taking 35% of the vote.

Sadly, the Telecomms giant was unable to do the triple by winning the third catergory : The "Worst Business Practice of the year", with 37% of all voters choosing to vent their ire at the Executives of many of Spain's bailed out Banks. Consumers were angered by their decision to award themselves Million-Euro payouts at the expense of the tax-paying public through the public money sponsored FROB (Fund for orderly bank restructuring) fund.

I'm not surprised. I waited on hold for over 2 hours to take advantage of phone insurance offered by text at €1.99 per month. When I finally got through they wanted €9.99 per month. Absolutely shocking service. When my contracts up I'm moving!

You've got to hand it to them : Beating every single company in Spain to take the award on three seperate occassions is no easy thing to do. They must all work so hard to maintain this envied position, and are all deserving of our respect. They must be so proud.
