Budget airline, Ryanair, has cancelled four of its six services from Granada airport, due to what they claim are ‘excessive costs'.
The routes from Granada to Madrid, Girona, Stansted and Liverpool ended earlier this week, and the airline says that 400,000 passengers per year and 400 jobs will be lost as a result.
The higher costs are due to Granada City Hall deciding to leave the consortium of local businesses which were subsidising the airline's presence in Granada.
Ryanair will continue to fly from Granada to Bologna and Milan.
