Earlier today Ryanair announced that it is to close it's operations base in Reus, Tarragona, due to on-going disputes with the regional authorities.
Plans are to pull out of Reus on October 30th, following 3 years where the airline has based three planes there during the summer months, and one during the winter.
The airline will continue to fly to and from the airport, but using other airports as their base.
The airline blamed the Catalan regional government and Tarragona authorities for its decision, speaking of high costs and of them being unreliable partners in the venture.
Ryanair are currently trying to work through differences with the Catalan regional government concerning Girona airport. Last year the airline cut operations at the airport following the incumbent administration's refusal to honour contracts signed with the airline by the previous government.
